Integrative Medicine

Dr Norling established The Mind Body Spirit Center to practice Integrative Medicine. She is the only physician in the United States known to be nationally board-certified in OB/GYN, Integrative/ Holistic Medicine, and Medical Acupuncture. She is also trained and certified in Functional Medicine and FirstLine Therapy, the study of nutrition, supplements and specialty testing. Dr Norling is also a Certified Biofeedback Specialist. She is a highly sought national speaker and educator on the benefits and concerns using natural medicine, supplements, and herbs. Dr Norling served on the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School for 12 years. As a visionary and successful leader, Dr Norling combines a credible and responsible academic knowledge with years of experience and a caring nature.

The Mind Body Spirit Center located at The Landing on beautiful Westlake Lake helps you achieve your health goals for optimal health; time is provided to hear the patient’s story, specialized testing finds the underlying cause of symptoms and illnesses, education is given to better understand their health issues and the best in services are provided to improve your health. In addition to Integrative Medicine, services include Chiropractic services, Energy Healing, Reiki, Hypnosis, Nutrition, EPFX/SCIO Quantum medical device, and Massage.

Her passion is Integrative Medicine, which blends the best of conventional medicine with the best in preventative care and natural approaches to healing. Her education and training in this growing and dynamic field is attached. Meaningful education and training has also come from listening to and caring for patients.

While practicing OB/GYN for 12 years in Westlake Village, CA, Dr Norling held leadership positions in both the medical field as well as in the community. She was the first woman OB/GYN and first woman surgeon in the area. She was also honored as the first woman member of the Westlake Sunrise Rotary Club. Dr Norling was a founding member of The Wellness Community. In 1990 she built the successful, comprehensive Conejo Women’s Medical Center which included physicians, nurses, nurse practitioner, nutritionist, psychologist and an esthetician and massage therapist. The center combined the best of natural approaches with state of the art conventional medicine.

As Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School she led the education and practice in the field of Integrative Medicine and Complementary Alternative Medicine. She has extensive knowledge and training in nutrition, mind-body medicine, medical acupuncture, and supplements. Dr Norling taught and mentored medical students and residents and established the first credentialing process for healers in the academic center and hospital in the nation.

Continuing to embrace the concept of mind, body, and spirit, she supports the principle that individuals increasingly seek and deserve to be partners in their health and healing.

Leadership

Dr Norling is a nationally recognized leader in natural approaches to health and healing. She brings extensive experiences in a wide range of areas in healthcare, including practicing women’s health and Integrative Medicine, serving as Medical Director and as Vice President of two large health organizations.

Recognized for her expertise, she has testified before the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy. She is the co-author of Integrative Medicine, and has written for numerous other publications.

Norling’s presentations not only separate fact from fiction, but they are filled with humor, anecdotes, and real-life experiences. Her audiences range from the medical profession and spa industry to conventions and cruise ships. She has been interviewed on radio and television, including CNN.

Business

As a physician executive and a successful business woman with an MBA, she has extensive healthcare experience and is known as a thought leader in the innovative ways to deliver health care. Norling’s healthcare experience includes clinical practice, business development and executive administrative positions. She has applied her expertise to the development of business units, programs and services. She led the development and served as the Medical Director of the Mind Body Spirit Clinic at the University of Minnesota. In one year, its volume increased 400%, and it was named number one in patient satisfaction out of 42 clinics.

Dr. Norling, a recognized leader in healthcare and the spa industry in the transformation of health and healing, has developed programs and practices for long term business success. This includes analysis, strategic planning, and program and service design with clear and practical recommendations to facilitate change. One of her skills is the ability to establish good marketing strategies and referral bases.

Dr Norling is owner of The Norling Group, a company consulting to healthcare, spas and business in the transformation of health and healing. The Norling Group helps companies increase their revenues by adding integrative medicine programs and services into their current business model. Dr. Norling was a featured speaker at Texas A and M University, April 2, 2007 on Health and Wellness at the International Conference on Urban Sustainable Communities.

Spa Industry

Dr. Norling has traveled the world as a medical consultant to the spas world and has served on the Medical Advisory Board of the International Spa Association (ISPA), a leading authority in the spa industry. She has presented at several ISPA international conferences and Medical Spa conferences on the healing aspects of spas. Her articles have been published in many spa magazines.

In April 2005, she presented at the Medical Spa Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her recent article on Medical Acupuncture in Spas was published in the May/June issue of Pulse, ISPA’s magazine. Dr Norling presented at the Spa and Resort Conference in New York in September 2006 and at the International Spa Association Conference in Las Vegas in November 2006.
