Leanne Voosen LMT

Leanne Michelle Voosen, LMT graduated from the University of North Texas in 1999 with two bachelors with honors degrees in anthropology and liberal arts. While working in the storytelling realms of theatre and technical concert lighting design / stage management, she continued her education in massage therapy, mastering modalities such as Swedish massage, medical anatomy and physiology, deep tissue trigger point therapy, hydrotherapy, myofascial release, reflexology, polarity, tai chi, and kineseology. She worked in various venues such as spas, chiropractic practices, athletic gyms, amputee rehabilitation programs, as well as her own private practice gradually creating a holistic, multidisciplined approach to her work.

Early in 2002, she had a spiritual life shift and began her study of the New Kadampa Tradition form of Tibetan Buddhism philosophy and meditation which teaches training of the body and the mind to gain different mental perspectives, emotional compassion, and overall peace. Also, this year, she discovered the transformative physical and emotional healing power of cranio sacral therapy. In private somato emotional release sessions with her own therapist, she underwent profound healing of addictions and emotional imbalances in her own life and experiences and decided that cranio sacral therapy should be a major part of her offerings as a therapist as well. Consequently, Leanne gained all of her training in cranio sacral therapy techniques from the Upledger Institute, the world's leading authority.

2002 also brought her first attunement of four into the Japanese traditional healing energy of Reiki (Japanese translation - "Universal Life Force Energy"). She received her higher level Reiki attunement from her mother, also a Reiki master and therapist. Many members of her family for generations have been therapists and healers in medical and/or spiritual traditions. In 2004, she made a major change in her life ending her career in lighting, moving from Texas to California, and beginning her full time practice of massage therapy, cranio sacral therapy, and Reiki energy work. She has been chosen to work in several prestigious centers.

Leanne will offer the Mind Body Spirit Center clients personalized integrative, non-invasive, gentle, loving and profound mixture in sacred space of the following modalities:

• Cranio Sacral Therapy - which, with only five grams of pressure balances the central nervous system, reduces stuck energy and trauma anywhere in the body, and releases physical restrictions in tissues, bones and cerebral spinal fluid
• Heart Centered Therapy and Somato Emotional Release - which help the client to consciously reconnect the body and emotions, creating profound healing along physical and energetic lines and releasing negative programming and beliefs held in the mind or the body.
• Massage Therapy
• Guided Breathing Meditations
• Reiki Energy - which heals and balances the chakras, internal and external energies of the body, and gives the client an overall deep sense of calm and well-being

Compassionately and creatively melding the concepts of mind-body relaxation/story telling, sacred ritual of various cultures/traditions, and modern therapeutic techniques, she feels very blessed to be a part of the Mind Body Spirit Center team of healers!
